Families & Children's Programming

As our kids programming at the MoveIner Conference continues to grow and develop each year, the program and care that we provide will offer an amazing chance for our youngest MoveIners to grow in Christ.

Childcare for babies, toddlers, and children in elementary school will be provided during sessions. More information will be coming closer to conference, or if you have a specific question please contact us at moveinerconference@movein.to and we will refer you to our Children's Program Coordinator

A message from Martha, our Children's Programming Coordinator

Supporting MoveIn Families is a Kingdom Investment

MoveIn values children. We recognize that the children of our MoveIn families are important members of our teams. We've heard many stories of children sharing about Jesus with classmates, teachers and friends in their neighbourhoods. We are inspired by their bold faith! Also, meeting kids’ friends and their friends' parents, gives our teams expanded networks.

Two Outcomes of Conference Children's Programming:

1 - Equipping our youngest MoveIn team members: Valuing our "mini MoveIners" also means that our conference is a time when we want to invest in them. Children who have come in past years are often excited to return to conference. We have observed that MoveIner kids have many similarities to missionary kids. In many ways, they have a "third culture" where they aren't fully part of their neighbours' cultures where they live, yet don't always fit in with typical Canadian consumerist culture around them. We want to build them up with kingdom values and affirm their calling from Jesus.

2 - Learning about a new ministry tool for your patch: MoveIner Conference is connected to a partner ministry of MoveIn called "Kids Kapers” (check out the video on this page). This is an excellent summer camp ministry that started in a MoveIn neighbourhood in Toronto. Several teams have now adopted this model and find it to be a great way to bless their neighbours and share about the Bible. Being part of the children's ministry at conference is a great way to observe this ministry and imagine starting it in your own patch. The leader who started Kids Kapers also plans the program for the kids at conference and has a lot of experience. She will be available to talk about having Kids Kapers in your own neighbourhood.

From One MoveIn Parent to Another (testimonial from a parent at MoveIner'16)

“As far as the children's program goes we really couldn't have been more blessed by it. [Our kids] felt so loved and comfortable.  Our daughter is especially hard to get that way and it was a joy for us to see them thriving with the helpers.

They ran such a great program from the lessons, to songs, to crafts and generally loving the kids so much. The same helpers are there almost the whole time and it is definitely ideal to have consistency like that for the kids.

Going to the conference takes lot of extra effort for us with the stage our kids are in and having them be so blessed (and us in so many ways) makes it all more than worth it.”
